Nokia
Gitex - 2011 Dubai

For the first time in my design career I was asked to design a complete exhibition stand ground up. On the first day of my new job in Dubai I was thrown in the deep end faced with one of the biggest challenges ever, for here I was as a Graphic Designer competing in a five way pitch against some of the leading Events and Exhibitions companies in Dubai and internationally. Nokia was launching their latest N9 phone at the Gitex in Oct, 2011. Starting my job in August 2011 I had less that two weeks to get my final design proposal to client and my team comprised of a 3D technician and an accounts manager. And here is what became of it.

Featuring the new N9phone which is all about the swipe and is promoted by the “Show Yourself Campaign”. This will be heavily interlinked with the NFC experience where it will primarily support the social networking activities (non-secured transactions).

The NFC Lounge is set to represent a casual socializing environment which helps demonstrate the impact of NFC on social gatherings and networking.

Learn and Experience NFC’s short-range radio technology that enables the transfer of data  over a short distance. This simply operates by touching your phone against another to send or receive information. This will also be demonstrated through “Tag Posters” which can be tagged with Smart Phones.

The NOKIA Store will feature all latest applications and will address the consumer and developers side.

The Symbian Bellewill feature the new Touch UI for Symbian which is more user friendly and interactive.

The Developer Area will feature the process of developing applications.

Though each area has its own unique feature, the open space design interconnects all areas in an attempt to create an ecosystem that encourages a habitat for intimate consumer interaction and experience.
